installation

What do I need for the installation?

• PoE-enabled camera.
All of our cameras are PoE capable.

• Network video recorder (NVR) with integrated PoE ports or PoE switch or PoE injector.

• Ethernet cable (Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat7 etc.).

• If remote access is required, Internet access is required. However, the video systems will also work without Internet.

To connect a PoE IP camera to a Network Video Recorder (NVR), follow these steps:

1. Connect : Connect the PoE IP camera to a PoE-enabled switch via an Ethernet cable or directly to an NVR that supports PoE.

2. Ensure power supply : If the NVR is PoE enabled, the camera will be powered through the Ethernet cable. Otherwise, you will need a PoE switch to provide power.

3.Configure Network: Make sure the NVR and camera are on the same network. If your camera has a static IP address, make sure it is compatible with the NVR. Add Camera to NVR : Go to the NVR interface and find the option to add a new camera. The NVR should automatically detect the camera if it is connected correctly.

Adjust Settings : Adjust camera settings such as resolution, recording schedules, and motion detection as needed.

Verify : Test the connection by viewing the camera's live image or recordings on the NVR.

The camera is now successfully connected to the NVR and is functional.

Setting up a Hikvision smartphone

To set up a Hikvision camera already configured in the NVR on your phone, you can use the Hik-Connect app or the iVMS-4500 app. Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Download and install the Hik-Connect app

  • Download the Hik-Connect app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

2. Create an account or log in

  • Open the app and create an account if you don't already have one, or log in with your existing account.

3. Add NVR to Hik-Connect account

  • Open the app and go to the Devices menu.
  • Add Device : Select "Add Device" and scan the NVR's QR code. You can find the QR code on the NVR screen under network settings or in the NVR's manual.
  • Login : Enter the NVR login information (username and password) to add the NVR.

4. Show cameras

  • Once the NVR is added, any cameras already connected to the NVR should automatically appear in the app.
  • You can then access and view the cameras live, review recordings and control camera settings.

5. Notifications (optional)

  • Enable notifications in the app if you want to be informed about movements or events in the camera.

6. Test the connection

  • Make sure your camera is working properly by checking the live image on your phone.

Alternatively: iVMS-4500 App

  • The steps are similar if you use the iVMS-4500 app. Install the app, add the NVR via the same method and access the cameras.

With these steps you can access the cameras already configured in the NVR via your mobile phone.

Setting up a Dahua smartphone

To set up a Dahua camera already configured in the NVR on your mobile, you can use the DMSS (Dahua Mobile Surveillance System) app. Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. Download and install the DMSS app

  • Download and install the DMSS app from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS).

2. Create an account or log in

  • Open the app and log in if you already have an account. If not, you can create a new account.

3. Add NVR

  • Add device : Click the "+" icon or "Add device".
  • Select “NVR” : When you add the NVR (Network Video Recorder), select “NVR” from the device list.
  • Scan QR code or enter manually :
  • Confirm connection : After entering the details, confirm the connection. The NVR should now appear in the app.

4. Show cameras

  • Once the NVR is successfully added, all cameras connected to the NVR should automatically appear in the app.
  • You can watch the live feed from the cameras, browse the recordings or manage the camera settings.

5. Enable notifications (optional)

  • Enable notifications in the app to be notified of motion or other events in your cameras.

6. Test the connection

  • Check that the live image is displayed correctly and that you can access the various functions of the cameras.

Alternatively: Dahua iDMSS (for iOS) and gDMSS (for Android)

  • If you use the mobile app “iDMSS” (for iOS) or “gDMSS” (for Android), follow similar steps:

With these steps, you can access and monitor the Dahua cameras already configured in the NVR via your mobile phone.

What is an IP surveillance camera?

An IP (Internet Protocol) surveillance camera is a camera that digitally captures video and transmits it over a network (LAN, WLAN or Internet).

What does PoE mean for surveillance cameras?

PoE stands for Power over Ethernet. Both power and data are transmitted via a single Ethernet cable (e.g. Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat7, etc.). This saves cables and makes installation easier.

Are all your IP cameras PoE-capable?

Yes, all of our IP cameras are PoE enabled. They use PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology to transmit both data and power over a single cable, making them easy to install and use.

Can IP cameras be controlled remotely?

Yes, all of our modern IP cameras can be remotely monitored and controlled via apps or software, provided they are connected to the Internet.

Why are no analog devices (coaxial cameras, DVR) available in your shop?

We rely on the latest technologies and therefore only offer IP cameras with PoE (Power over Ethernet). These modern cameras enable more efficient and flexible installation, as both data and power are transmitted via a single network cable.
